Meet Laura Padilla, MA, LMFT
Marriage and Family Therapist,
Certified EMDR Therapist
My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe and welcoming environment to meet my clients where they are at and support their process. I believe therapy can be an extremely vulnerable and empowering experience. I want to encourage and foster healthy relationships with self, partners, and family for my clients.

I have my Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary’s University and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I am a Certified EMDR Therapist, Gottman Marital Therapy Level 1 Certified, and I am currently working on my Licensed Addiction Counselor credential. I began my career as a victim advocate for the Rape Crisis Center of San Antonio. For the past 8 years, I have worked as a school counselor for PK4 to 8th grade while in Texas and a therapist specializing in couples and family therapy and domestic violence in Colorado. I believe in a systemic approach to therapy. I specialize in EMDR therapy, couples and family therapy, and trauma focused treatment.

I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I lived in Colorado from 2017 to 2022 and recently moved to Virginia in 2022. I have two children, a daughter and a son. I love animals and have 3 fur babies. My husband is currently active-duty Air Force. I love to be outdoors, camp, hike, do arts and crafts, bake, watch movies, and spend time with my dogs.
Two of my favorite quotes are:

“With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.”
Eleanor Roosevelt
“Loving ourselves through the process of owning our story is
the bravest thing we will ever do.” Brene Brown
